What is now known as the law office of GANNON & BAILEY, PC, was originally founded by Amos L. Lachapelle in 1928. Attorney Eugene T. Lachapelle joined his brother in 1932. In 1979, Attorney Robert McCorry was made a partner in the firm, then known as Lachapelle and McCorry. Attorney John “Jack” Gannon was made a partner in the late 1980’s, but it was not until 1992 that the firm again changed its name to McCorry and Gannon, following the death of Eugene Lachapelle. In 2017, attorney Lauren Bailey was named as partner of the firm and the firm name was changed once more to its current iteration.

Jack is a graduate of Northeastern University (B.S. 1981) and Franklin Pierce Law Center (J.D. 1985). Jack is admitted to the Rhode Island Bar (1986); United States District Court, District of Rhode Island (1987), United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (2000), Massachusetts Bar (2006), and United States District Court, District of Massachusetts (2010). Jack is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Association. Jack has received numerous appointments during his career, including Pawtucket City Solicitor (1992-1997); Central Falls Assistant City Solicitor (2004-2008); Central Falls City Solicitor (2008-2010); Legal Counsel, East Providence Personnel Board (1997-present); Legal Counsel, Rhode Island House of Representatives Labor Committee (2005-2006); Legal Counsel, Cumberland Zoning Board (2007-2015); Director of Administration, City of Pawtucket (2011); Former Chairman of the Blackstone Valley Community Healthcare Center Board of Directors; and the current Chief Judge of the Pawtucket Municipal Court.

REAL ESTATE
We offer legal assistance from start to finish for clients who are selling, buying, or refinancing properties, both residential and commercial, in RI & MA. We draft and review purchase and sales agreements to ensure all terms are incorporated to protect our clients. We review title examinations, and handle all aspects of the real estate closing to make it as easy as possible!
ESTATE PLANNING
We offer estate planning services to our clients in RI & MA and will explain the different legal tools available to help our clients achieve their goals, including drafting wills, powers of attorney, or revocable or irrevocable trusts depending on the client's needs. Estate planning is not "one size fits all", so we take the time to discuss and understand the client's desires.
PROBATE
We have assisted many clients throughout RI with probating estates for their loved ones. Each city and town in RI has their own probate court and it can be an overwhelming process, but with decades of experience, we can simplify the process for our clients. We will help guide our clients from the opening of an estate through final distribution of the assets.
LLC FORMATION and
ZONING/LAND USE
We will handle the research and filing requirements for our clients to create their LLC with the Secretary of State in RI and MA. We can also draft operating agreements for LLCs, as needed, based on our clients' needs.
We help guide our clients through the complexities and nuisances of zoning law and land use planning in RI, from application to final decision.
